Our Mission

Work with local, state and national government leaders to remove systemic obstacles that impede greater father-family involvement, thereby demonstrating state and national committment to both maternal and paternal involvement in the well-being of children.

Raise the consciousness of Pennsylvanians, county by couny, one person at a time, if necessary, documenting that fathers can make trememdous contributions to the well-being of children and families.

Our Collective Vision

The Strong Families Commission, and the Commonwealth Citizens Council share a collective vision for the future of Pennsylvania, i.e., “All citizens can and will benefit from a conscious raising campaign regarding the importance of father involvement in the lives of their children.” Our anticipated vision is, – “More citizens of the Commonwealth will come to realize that all fathers, regardless of family heritage, race, ethnicity, income, education, health status, geographic location, or lifestyle, can in fact, do more to ensure the well-being of their children, families, and communities, especially when given a fair opportunity. With the support of Pennsylvania’s State Government, Fathers who are fully included and actively participating in the parenting of children of all ages will be the standard and will no longer be seen as an anomaly.
