Role of the Commonwealth Citizens Council (CCC) Executive Committee

Members of the Commonwealth Citizens Council will be drawn from Pennsylvania’s 67 Counties for the Purposes of recruiting state-wide Delegates, who fit the criteria of FATHERIST®, who will monitor the implementation of Pennsylvania ACT 114 of 20222, with the added mission to work with local, state, and national government leaders to remove systemic obstacles that impede greater father-family involvement, thereby demonstrating state and national commitment to both material and paternal involvement in the well-being of children.

Criteria for CCC Membership

The Commonwealth Citizens Council shall be composed of no less than (23), or more than (67), members who shall be natural people of full age and citizens of the Commonwealth, who are committed to the purposes of the CCC as expressed in its Corporate By-Laws.

The exact number of Members of the Executive Committee of the Council shall be fixed from time to time by the full body of the Council. CCC Membership Requires All Members to:

  • Be willing to forward a current Photo of self that would be posted on the CCC’s Website.
  • Be willing to state in writing why they have agreed to serve on the CCC and to share what they would like to disclose with other members of the Commonwealth.
  • Adopt CCC’s purpose, mission, vision, goals, and timetable for implementation of objectives.

Role Expectation

  • Full and consistent participation in meetings and decision-making regarding the work of the CCC.
  • Enthusiastic participation in the analysis and promotion of effective policies and programs that strengthen families, leverage resources to support family formation, and encourage coordination among CCC delegates.

Member Responsibility

  • Participation in face-to-face, as well as virtual meetings of the CCC, as called
    by the Chair.  A maximum of four face-to-face meetings per year is anticipated:
    virtual or electronic meetings as driven by necessity.
  • Mutual respect for other members of the CCC and their opinions.
  • Immediate identification of areas of conflict of interest that may arise.
  • Uphold confidentiality related to the work of the CCC.
  • Maintain objectivity in consideration of new information, including willingness
    to see a bigger picture, patience with the CCC’s processes, and exhibiting good
    listening skills in consideration of new information.
  • Understand thoroughly case exemplars of systemic barriers to the involvement of Fathers in the lives and well-being of their children; and,
  • Complete assignments on time.
